Choosing The Perfect Attire For The Groom


 Now a days, the men, particularly the grooms are very choosy about their looks. The days are gone when selecting the dress for the wedding day was not that much big task. As time has passed by, the men has changed their outlook towards styling and grooming. Emergence of several brand names and designer wears as the wedding attires for the would be grooms are the proof of fashion consciousness among men.
Wedding day is said to be the best day in one's life and in this “once-in-life” occasion, both the bride and groom should look their best in their traditional attires. In Indian context, the traditional attires of a groom are: Sherwanies, and Suits.

Sherwani:

Sherwani is the most stylish and elegant Indian attire for men. It is a close fitted, front opened dress with a neheru collar. When fastened with the buttons, the dress look like a “close fitted jacket”. The length of the groom's sherwani should be of till the knees or longer than that. Sherwani is generally paired with contrast colored chruidars and nagras in the feet. Sometimes the dress also teamed with a scarf or a shawl, which hangs around or drape over the shoulder. Generally the North Indian and Punjabi men wear sherwani during their wedding as it is the perfect attire which adds more glitter and glow in their well built personality. Sherwanies are available in various shades and fabrics, and to make the attire gorgeous, it is accessorized with Zardozi and embroidery works. The sherwanis can be stitched according to the wearer's size or it can be bought ready made from the shops. Generally, sherwanies are priced between thousands and lakhs, depending on the fabric, design and embellishment.
Another accessories that can be teamed up with sherwanies are: watch, silver or gold cuff-links, gold chain and gold bracelet.


Suit:

Suit or Tuxedo is another popular choice of attire for the grooms on the wedding day. The groom can look perfect in a suit teamed up with right colored shirts and shoes. The common options of suits in the wedding day include:
  • Dinner jacket- It is a subtle pattern coat with a shawl collar. This coat is the perfect choice for the evenings of the summer days. Dinner jackets are available in ivory and classic white shades and look good when teamed up with black formal trousers.
  • Morning coat or cutaway- It is one of the most formal wedding attires and also ideal for any morning function. The suit can be paired with ascot, winged-collared shirt and striped trousers.
  • Tails: It is another perfect wedding attire for the christian community. It is basically a short length jacket with two comparatively longer tail in the back of the jacket. The tails can be teamed up with white colored pique shirt, braces and a bow tie.
  • Dark colored gorgeous suit: This formal suit is perfect for a evening wedding function. It looks great when paired up with a light colored shirt and a subtly patterned, dark or solid colored tie.
  • Stroller coat- This heap length coat is another variation of a morning coat. It looks the best when it is paired with fancy waistcoats.
So, here are the perfect guideline for choosing the perfect attire for the grooms. Now choose yours according to your personality and style statement. Don't try to copy others. Remember, no dress can look good if it is not worn in a perfect way.
